Aged in French Oak Red wine barrels for 20 months (yep, 20 months!), then re-fermented with delicious, sweet raspberries. The result is a juicy, full-bodied beer with the complexity of an oaky red wine. Notes of biscuit, vanilla and oak from the barrel balance out the fruity flavors, with a dry finish.
The name, “Fatal Reflection” was inspired by the story of Narcissus, who was so vain that he fell in love with his own reflection in a pond, fell into the water and drowned. Dark, we know. His story represents the “Shadow” character archetype, one we haven’t really explored yet. This will be the first in a 3-part series of beers inspired by the shadow archetype.
