Archetype Brings Home Two Golds at NC Brewers Cup
Seven beers brewed here in Asheville brought home 2 gold medals, 2 silver, and 3 bronze at the NC Brewers Cup announced this month.
Among a staggering 380 breweries in NC, Asheville still boasts some of the best beers in the state! Call it the water, or the collective talent this city continues to attract, if you haven’t tried these beers yet, here’s the scoop:
Asheville’s GOLD were brought home by Archetype Brewing for Cowboy Poet Lager and Talking To Plants Wit.
Asheville’s SILVER winners were Riverside Rhapsody and The Cellarest for their Mountain Chain Kolsch and Cellarveza Pale, respectively. BRONZE winners were Sweeten Creek, Hi-Wire and Whistle Hop for their Burndogger Brown, Mountain Time Lager and Ilaira, respectively.
“With regulation changes frequently benefitting the “big players,” it’s no surprise that Asheville’s fighting spirit continues to bring out the best despite the challenges thrown its way – it’s just one reason I love this city, and this brewery,” – Gaines Myers, Archetype Brewing CEO.
“Cowboy & Plants are what we call Core Beers around here at Archetype. These are always on tap, and regularly available to-go. In the past, we’ve generally chosen to send in our more exclusive barrel aged beers to competitions – and they’ve won! This time, we took the advice of our local fans and sent in two beers Asheville can enjoy year-round in our three taprooms and at home,” Head Brewer, Sean Felosa states.
