Every year, Beer Connoisseur magazine invites breweries to submit two beers for review by their Cicerone and BJCP certified beer judges. In 2019, Archetype brewing submitted Timely Surrender Mixed-Culture Saison, and The Sage Belgian Strong Ale for review, and received two of the highest scores given. Timely Surrender was named the top Saison of 2019, and The Sage received a world-class rating and #2 in the Dark Belgian Ale category, along with a 4-page spread in the Annual Best in Beer issue.
